Obverse description Central field displays the elaborate arms of the Archbishopric of Bremen, featuring the cathedral chapter's heraldic shield surmounted by an archbishop's cross, flanked by two smaller heraldic shields, all rendered in Gothic relief typical of late medieval German ecclesiastical coinage. A mitred figure of the archbishop appears above the central shield complex. The surrounding Gothic Latin legend, partially abbreviated, reads the titulature of Archbishop Johann III Rode of Wale. The coin's irregular flan exhibits the characteristic uneven surfaces of hammered silver production, with a beaded inner border separating the legend from the field.
