Obverse description Plain copper field bearing a bold multi-line Latin inscription arranged in four horizontal registers: 'IV' at the top, 'GROSCHEN' below, followed by the abbreviated authority 'F · A · Z · L · M' and the date '1767' at the base. Two ornamental rosette devices flank the uppermost line, imparting a decorative quality to the otherwise typographic composition. The legends are rendered in large, deeply struck serif capitals that fill the entire field. The coin is encircled by a continuous milled border of fine denticles. The design is entirely inscriptional, with no effigy or armorial device present.
