| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse field is entirely typographic in design, displaying the denomination in large Roman numerals 'IV' at the top centre, flanked on either side by a small decorative rosette or floral ornament. Beneath, the word 'GROSCHEN' is inscribed across the field in bold capital letters. The third line carries the ruler's initials 'F · A · Z · L · M' (Friedrich August, Zerbst, Landgrave and Margrave), and the date '1767' occupies the lower field. The coin is struck within a plain, milled border with no surrounding legend, reflecting the utilitarian typographic style common to small German states coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. |
