Obverse description Central field occupied by a two-fold composite heraldic shield, surmounted by a princely crown, displaying the quartered arms of the Anhalt territories including the bear of Anhalt and the quatered field. The shield is rendered in the German heraldic tradition of the early seventeenth century. A circular inner border separates the central device from the surrounding circumferential legend in Latin, reading the abbreviated names of the six co-ruling princes: CHRI AUG RUD LUD IOH CA.
