Obverse description Facing bust of Saint Leodegar (Leodegarius), patron saint of Lucerne, vested in episcopal robes and wearing a mitre, occupying the central field within a beaded inner circle. The saint is depicted in a stylized Gothic manner characteristic of Swiss Renaissance coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, reading SANCTVS LEODEGARI or similar invocation of the saint's name.
