| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend in naskh script, reading 'Khalifah rabb al-amin Qutb ud-duniya wa ud-din', arranged horizontally across the flan in two or three lines. The inscription is enclosed within a decorative border of petal or leaf-like elements forming a lobed inner circle, a characteristic artistic convention of early Delhi Sultanate billon coinage. The die-struck relief is bold but irregular due to the hammered technique, with the legend partially weak at the periphery as is typical for this series. |
