Obverse description Bare-headed bust of King Norodom I facing left, with short wavy hair, rendered in a restrained neo-classical style. The engraver's signature C. WÜRDEN appears incuse on the truncation. The circular legend NORODOM I ROI DU CAMBODGE runs along the upper periphery, while the date 1860 is positioned in the lower field. The coin is bordered by a continuous beaded rim.

The French value legend QUATRE FRANCS is inscribed along the lower periphery, flanked by raised dots. The design is enclosed within a beaded border.
