| Additional information |
Austria introduced the platinum Philharmonic series in 2016, making it one of the few sovereign mints to issue platinum bullion coins in fractional sizes at that weight. The 1/25 oz denomination exists primarily to provide a lower entry point into platinum bullion, a metal that spent much of the 2017–2023 window trading at a discount to gold — an unusual inversion that historically corrects, and that drove renewed institutional interest in the format during this period.
