| Obverse description | Imitation of a Spanish colonial cob-style gold escudo. The central field displays a quartered shield bearing alternating castles and lions, characteristic of the Royal Arms of Castile and León, divided by a plain cross. Two crowned supporters, rendered in low relief, flank the upper portion of the shield. The overall design is consistent with the macuquina (cob) coinage typology of the Spanish colonial mints, with deliberately irregular flan shape and softly struck, somewhat blurred details typical of modern cast reproductions. |
