Reverse description The quartered Royal Arms of Spain, comprising castles of Castile and lions of León in alternating quarters with a central escutcheon bearing the fleurs-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty, surmounted by an elaborate royal crown in high relief. To the left of the shield appears the assayer initial J and to the right the denomination numeral 4, both flanked by small floral ornaments. The mint mark LM for Lima appears at the base. The circumferential Latin legend INITIUM SAPIENTIAE TIMOR DOMINI surrounds the entire design, with a milled border at the rim.
