Obverse description Crowned quartered royal arms of Spain within a shield, displaying the castles of Castile and the lions of León, with the mint mark 'S' (Seville) positioned to the left of the shield and the denomination 'IIII' to the right. The crowned shield is rendered in the baroque style typical of early 18th-century Spanish coinage. The surrounding legend reads PHILIPPVS V DEI GRA, partially visible around the milled border.
