| Obverse description | Central field displays the Royal coat of arms of Castile and León, quartered, struck in the typical cob (macuquina) style with irregular flan and boldly impressed dies. Partial circumferential legend reading CAROLVS II DEI G is visible around the shield, with date and assayer mark partially legible at the periphery. The design reflects the crude but characteristic hand-struck technique of the Mexico City mint in the late Habsburg period. |

| Reverse description | Central field bears the quartered arms of Spain, featuring the castles of Castile and the lions of León arranged in the four quarters of a plain cross, characteristic of the macuquina coinage of the Mexico City mint. The design is boldly struck but irregularly distributed across the cob flan, with portions of the cross and shield arms visible. Mint mark, assayer initial, and denomination indicators are partially present at the field margins, consistent with the rough cob striking technique of this period. |
