Obverse description Countermark 4E RF on center plug of Spanish or Spanish Colonial 8 Reales cut as an octagon. The remaining ring was then cut into eight small bits, each of them forming a KM#2 Escalin. 1 Escalin equals 4/5 of a Spanish real, and equals 1 Livres.
