The shield is supported on the left by a rampant bear and on the right by a rampant lion, both standing on a foliate cartouche base. The mintmaster's initials DB appear below the shield at either side of the cartouche. The circular legend reads MONETA REIPVBLICÆ BERNENSIS DB, distributed around the periphery within a milled border. |
