Obverse description Draped bust of Fernando I facing right, wearing a crown and with long flowing hair visible beneath, rendered in high relief in the late Gothic style typical of Iberian Renaissance coinage. The effigy is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding Latin legend reads FERNANDVS D G R NAVARRE ET AR, separated by pellet stops, running clockwise along the outer margin of the coin.

Reverse description Crowned shield of Navarre prominently displayed at centre, bearing the characteristic chain pattern of the arms of Navarre arranged in saltire with an escutcheon at the intersection, surmounted by an elaborate Gothic crown in high relief. The shield is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding Latin legend SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICVTM runs clockwise along the outer margin, separated by pellet stops.
