Obverse description The obverse bears the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as sculpted by Susan Taylor, depicting a mature right-facing draped bust of the Queen without crown or diadem. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left rim, while CANADA and D•G•REGINA arc along the upper right rim, framed by a beaded border. The date 2012 appears in the lower field. The portrait is rendered in a refined, realistic style characteristic of Canadian collector coinage of this period.
