Saracens RFC were banned from the Premiership in 2019 after a salary cap investigation found the club had made undisclosed payments to players — a scandal that resulted in relegation to the Championship and a £5.3 million fine. They won promotion back to the Premiership in 2021, the same year this coin was issued, which gives the timing a pointed relevance the face value of four New Zealand dollars does little to reflect.
