The helmet features characteristic cheek guards, a pronounced nasal guard, and a domed skull, faithfully reproducing the form of ancient Greek military headgear. An inscription on the helmet records its dedication by the Argives, inhabitants of the city-state of Argos, to the god Zeus as a trophy of battle spoil taken from the Corinthians. |
