| 正面描述 | Central field bears the coat of arms of Saint Christopher, Nevis and Anguilla, featuring a quartered shield with a sailing vessel and fleurs-de-lis, supported on the dexter by a pelican and on the sinister by a dolphin, both with wings elevated; a plumed helmet above the shield serves as the crest. A scroll beneath the supporters carries the motto UNITY IN TRINITY, and the date 1970 appears in the lower field. The circumferential legend reads INAUGURATION OF THE CARIBBEAN DEVELOPMENT BANK · SAINT CHRISTOPHER · NEVIS · ANGUILLA, distributed around the full perimeter in raised Latin characters. |

Saint Kitts and Nevis issued this piece as part of the FAO coinage program, a United Nations initiative launched in the late 1960s to promote food production and agricultural awareness across developing nations. Dozens of countries participated, often issuing coins that would otherwise never have been struck — Saint Kitts had no independent coinage tradition of its own at this point, still operating under the Eastern Caribbean Currency Authority. The 4-dollar denomination is an unusual choice, neither a round local unit nor a convenient fraction of sterling.
