| 表面の説明 | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susan Taylor, depicting the monarch at approximately 77 years of age, bare-headed, wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The legend ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA arcs along the upper periphery in Latin script, identifying her as Queen by the Grace of God. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a polished proof field, consistent with the artistic standards of the Royal Canadian Mint's collector series. |

Dromaeosaurus albertensis was named in 1914 from fragmentary material recovered in Alberta's Red Deer River valley — and remains one of the most poorly understood of the raptor-family dinosaurs despite lending its name to the entire Dromaeosauridae. The Royal Canadian Mint's 2010 prehistoric series leaned heavily into Canadian paleontological heritage, a subject the RCM returned to repeatedly through the decade as collector-focused issues displaced circulation coinage in its production priorities.
The .9999 fineness is notably purer than the sterling standard common to most world silver coinage of the period.
