The "Dry Blowing" release belongs to Perth Mint's long-running Prospector Nugget series, which began in 1986 as Australia's answer to the South African Krugerrand's dominance of the bullion market. By 2002, the series had expanded well beyond its original nugget-imagery roots into depictions of actual goldfield techniques. Dry blowing — separating alluvial gold from sand using wind rather than water — was a necessity on the arid inland fields of Western Australia where water was simply unavailable, particularly around the Murchison and Goldfields regions.

At 1/25 oz, this is the smallest denomination in the Nugget fractional range.
