| Beschrijving voorzijde | Cast iron cash coin with a central square perforation framed by a raised inner rim. Four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) are disposed in the four quadrants reading top, bottom, right, left: 咸豐重寶 (Xianfeng Zhongbao), denoting the reign title of the Xianfeng Emperor and the designation 'heavy currency.' The characters are bold and deeply cast within a plain field bounded by a raised outer rim. The surfaces display characteristic roughness consistent with iron casting of the period. |
