| Beschrijving keerzijde | The elaborate Belgian royal coat of arms, comprising a crowned shield bearing the Lion of Belgium, mantled and supported, occupies the central field. The denomination '20 Fr.' is displayed prominently to the right of the shield, while the upper legend 'QUATRE BELGAS' arcs above. The date '1931' appears in the exergue below, flanked by the engraver's initials 'G.D.' for Godefroid Devreese, all struck in high proof-like relief. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Belgium's monetary authorities spent much of the early 1930s wrestling with whether to revalue the franc following the strains of the post-war gold standard. This 1931 piece was struck as a pattern — never approved for circulation — during that period of internal debate, which would eventually culminate in the 35% devaluation of the belga in 1935. The absence of any standard catalog number in KM, Morshead, or Linecar & Allen underscores just how few examples were produced and how thoroughly outside the official series it sits.
Delmonte's attribution is the only anchor this piece has in the literature.
