COM CAR — Combined Carrier — was the Allied fleet train operating in the Indian Ocean and Pacific during the Second World War. Messing and canteen tokens issued aboard these vessels, including small-denomination scrip like this 4 Annas note, allowed shipboard transactions without drawing on official naval pay or introducing hard currency into controlled environments.
