| Obverse description | Bearded bust of Ferdinand I, half-length, facing right, crowned and clad in elaborately ornamented armour, holding an imperial sceptre in the right hand with the left hand resting upon a sword at the belt. The effigy is contained within two concentric circles, the outermost formed by a beaded border. The surrounding legend, commencing at 12 o'clock, reads as an abbreviated form of FERDINANDVS DEI GRATIA ROMANORVM HVNGARIAE BOHEMIAE DALMATIAE CROATIAE REX. |
