The upper legend reads 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) in Chinese characters arranged along the upper arc. The commemorative dates 1911 and 1981 flank the figure at mid-field to the left and right respectively. The lower legend 辛亥革命七十周年纪念 (Commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the 1911 Revolution) is inscribed in Chinese characters along the lower arc. The mirror-like proof fields provide a strong contrast with the frosted relief of the central effigy. |
