Reverse description A colorized scene depicting Guan Yu, the celebrated Chinese general and deity, mounted on a galloping brown horse and clad in ornate green armour with flowing green robes, holding a long-handled glaive (Green Dragon Crescent Blade) aloft. The vividly colored equestrian figure is rendered in a traditional Chinese artistic style and applied in polychrome enamel at the center of the matte gold field. The denomination 35 DOLLARS appears in two lines to the lower left of the central motif. The Chinese inscription 千里走单骑, meaning 'Travelling a Thousand Li Alone,' is inscribed in simplified Chinese characters along the lower field.
