Opmerkingen

Uzbekistan's coupon currency was a transitional instrument introduced after independence to manage the exit from the Soviet ruble zone. These denominated coupons — structured as combined 10+25 values for the second quarter of 1993 — functioned as ration supplements rather than conventional banknotes, tied to specific purchasing periods and rendered worthless outside their validity window.

The quarterly expiry mechanism was deliberate: it discouraged hoarding during acute shortage conditions. Notes that survived their quarter were typically discarded, which is why intact second-quarter examples in any condition are underrepresented in most collections.
