Reverse description The reverse is entirely typographic in design, bearing no figurative elements. The large numeral '32' dominates the upper field in an elegant serif typeface, flanked on either side by a small six-petalled rosette ornament. Below, in three lines of bold capital letters, the inscription reads 'SCHILLINGE / HAMBURGER / COURANT', followed by the date '1809.' with a terminal stop. The flat, unadorned field and clean layout are characteristic of late-period Hamburg coinage intended for mercantile circulation.
