| Reverse description | The crowned city arms of Lübeck — displaying the distinctive diagonally quartered shield with a double-headed eagle — set within an elaborate baroque cartouche of scrolling acanthus ornament. A royal crown surmounts the shield at top center. The denomination numeral 32 appears to the upper left of the crown, with the legend SCHILING STADT GELDT and the date 1672 distributed around the periphery in Latin script. The bold baroque frame and crisp heraldic rendering are typical of the skilled die work produced for Lübeck's autonomous civic coinage. |
