The Noble series dates to 1983, when the Isle of Man revived the denomination last struck in medieval England — the original gold Noble of Edward III, minted from 1344, was the first English gold coin to achieve wide international circulation. This silver kilo issue continues that lineage under Charles III, though at a scale no medieval moneyer would have recognized.
