Cambodia has no native pheasant species commonly called the "green pheasant" — that bird is Japan's national animal, and this coin almost certainly reflects a continuing commercial partnership between the National Bank of Cambodia and foreign bullion program operators who use Cambodia's issuing authority as a vehicle for themed collector silver. The arrangement is legal and not uncommon among smaller central banks seeking modest licensing revenue.
