| Obverse description | Central field bears the national emblem of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, depicting That Luang stupa flanked by paddy stalks and framed by a cogwheel at the base, with a ribbon bearing Lao-script legends. The legend 'THE LAO PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC' curves along the upper periphery in Latin script, while additional Lao-script inscriptions appear on the ribbon at the lower portion of the emblem. The date '1999' is inscribed in the lower field beneath the emblem. The coin is struck in proof finish with a deeply mirrored field. |
