| 背面描述 | A full-length figure of a male boxer is depicted in a classic fighting stance, facing left with gloved fists raised, rendered in high relief against a plain field. To the right, a rectangular panel contains the five interlocked Olympic rings above the stylized Munich 1972 Olympic sunburst emblem. The inscription MUNCHEN appears in the lower field, with the year 1972 directly below, all contained within a beaded border. |

Paraguay's 1972 Munich Olympics commemorative series was issued a year after the Games concluded — a common delay for smaller mints contracting out production during the commemorative boom of the early 1970s. The Munich Games themselves were, of course, overshadowed by the massacre of eleven Israeli athletes and coaches by the Black September organization on September 5th, a political catastrophe that briefly halted competition before the IOC controversially decided to continue.
KM#51 is part of a multi-denomination gold series Paraguay issued across several Olympic themes. The .900 fine gold content aligns with the standard fineness Paraguay used across this commemorative program rather than the higher .999 purity that became more common in later decades.
