| 表面の説明 | The Paraguayan national arms occupy the central field, depicting a five-pointed star within a radiating glory, encircled by a wreath of palm and olive branches bound at the base. The circular legend REPUBLICA DEL PARAGUAY arcs along the upper periphery, interrupted by a beaded inner border. The date 19 73 is divided at lower left and right of the shield, with the denomination 3000 GUARANIES inscribed in the lower arc. A mint mark appears in the exergue area below the arms. |

| 裏面の説明 | A forward-facing portrait bust of General Bernardino Caballero dominates the field, rendered in high relief with fine engraved detail emphasizing his full beard and military attire with collar insignia visible at the truncation. The beaded border frames the design along the full circumference. The legend GENERAL BERNARDINO CABALLERO arcs around the upper and lateral periphery in evenly spaced capital letters. The field is otherwise plain, focusing attention on the strong, realistic effigy of the Paraguayan national hero. |

Bernardino Caballero founded the Colorado Party in 1887, the political machine that would dominate Paraguay for most of the following century — including the Stroessner dictatorship under whose authority this coin was issued. The 1973 gold series was part of a broader commemorative program Paraguay used to generate hard currency revenue from foreign collectors rather than domestic circulation, a common fiscal maneuver among cash-strapped governments of that decade.
