Reverse description Central portrait bust of Felix Eboue, the celebrated Governor of Chad who famously rallied the territory to the Free French cause in 1940, rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. The portrait faces slightly to the left, with naturalistic modeling of the facial features and collar visible at the truncation. The engraver's initials G.S. appear to the right of the bust. The legend GOUVERNEUR EBOUE arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by decorative dot borders, while the commemorative date 1940 is inscribed along the lower border between dot separators.
