Reverse description A highly detailed rendering of a recumbent ox is depicted in high relief at centre, facing right, resting upon a grassy mound with foliage rendered in the left field background. The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark appears to the upper left of the central device. The Chinese character 牛 (Ox) is prominently placed in the upper right field. The legend YEAR OF THE OX curves along the lower portion of the field in stylised script, completing the design of this Lunar Series II issue.
