Additional information

China's lunar bullion series has been issued annually since 1981, making the 2007 Pig the twenty-seventh installment. The kilogram silver format was introduced to capture institutional and collector demand that the smaller denominations couldn't satisfy — these were never intended for circulation and were sold directly through authorized distributors at a significant premium over spot.

The 2007 issue marks the last Pig year before the series underwent packaging and finish revisions in subsequent cycles.
