正面描述 The obverse features a central ornamental frame rendered in high relief, decorated with traditional Chinese cloud and dragon motifs in an intricate architectural border design. Within the frame appears the partially colored official emblem of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games — a stylized running figure rendered in red, derived from a Chinese seal-script character — above the inscription 'Beijing 2008' and the five multicolored Olympic rings. The outer legend reads '中华人民共和国' (People's Republic of China) arranged around the upper periphery, with the date '2008' inscribed at the base of the coin.

背面描述 The reverse presents a dramatic high-relief depiction of athletes competing in a tug-of-war, with muscular figures straining powerfully at a thick rope rendered in fine detail against a mirror-polished field. In the upper background, a secondary scene depicts a line of traditionally costumed figures in dynamic poses, referencing the historical and folkloric origins of the sport. Stylized clouds and waves fill the lower field, lending the composition a classical Chinese artistic quality reminiscent of traditional ink painting. The curved legend '第29届奥林匹克运动会' (29th Olympic Games) is inscribed along the upper border, while the denomination '300元' appears in the lower left field.

附加信息

Tug of war appeared in the ancient Olympics but was dropped after the 1920 Antwerp Games, making its inclusion in this commemorative series an odd curatorial choice — the sport has not appeared in any Olympic program since. China issued a broad range of denominations and sizes for the 2008 Beijing Games, with the kilogram silver pieces occupying the top of that hierarchy. The 300 Yuan face value is purely nominal; no such denomination existed in circulation.
