The face of the note is occupied by formal letterpress text containing the promise of payment, with the denomination THREE HUNDRED Pounds rendered in bold script; the place and date of issue are inscribed twice in manuscript form, and the payee name is completed by hand in keeping with contemporary Bank of England practice for this series. |
