备注

El Banco Español de la Habana was the dominant commercial bank in colonial Cuba, and its higher-denomination notes like this 300 Pesos were instruments of serious mercantile credit rather than everyday exchange — the kind of paper that moved between sugar traders and merchants, not market stalls. The "186x" dating indicates the exact year of issue within the decade remains unconfirmed, which is not unusual for a series where surviving specimens are scarce and often undated proofs rather than issued notes.

The National Bank Note Company of New York held engraving contracts for numerous Latin American and Caribbean issuers during this period, before its 1879 merger into the American Bank Note Company.
