备注

El Banco Español de la Habana was the only bank of issue in colonial Cuba, operating under close supervision from Madrid — its note-issuing authority was a political instrument as much as a financial one. The 300 Pesos denomination is the highest in this series and almost certainly saw negligible day-to-day commercial use; high-denomination colonial notes of this period typically moved between merchants and the treasury rather than through ordinary hands.

American Bank Note Company's involvement here is unsurprising — ABNC dominated Latin American and Caribbean colonial printing contracts throughout the 1860s. What is notable is the denomination itself: 300 Pesos is unusual even by regional standards of the period, suggesting it was sized for specific interbank or government settlement purposes rather than retail commerce.
