Obverse description The Bhutanese national emblem occupies the central field, depicting two intertwined dragons flanking a central double vajra (thunderbolt) symbol above a lotus blossom, all rendered in fine detail within a circular border. The date 1992 appears twice in the field, divided to the left and right of the emblem. The legend KINGDOM OF BHUTAN arcs along the upper periphery in Latin characters, while a Dzongkha inscription in Tibetan script runs along the lower periphery. The frosted devices contrast sharply against the mirror-polished proof field.
