| Reverse description | A tiger depicted in a crouching, prowling posture occupies the central field, rendered in high sculptural relief with finely detailed striped fur. The animal is positioned atop a rocky outcrop with lush tropical foliage to the right and mountain peaks suggested in the background. The denomination 300 Kyat appears in two lines to the left of the tiger in the field. The legend 1/25 OZ 999.9 Fine Gold arcs along the upper periphery, indicating the coin's gold content and fineness. |

Myanmar's 1998 bullion issues were produced during the SLORC-to-SPDC transition period, when the military junta rebranded itself while maintaining identical command structures. The Year of the Tiger denomination fits within a broader zodiac bullion program the Central Bank ran through the late 1990s, partly as a foreign exchange mechanism at a time when Myanmar's official kyat rate bore almost no relationship to black market reality.
