| Reverse description | Centered depiction of the Pillars of Hercules bound by a scroll bearing the motto PLUS ULTRA, with the Madrid mint mark (M) positioned below. Encircling this central device, arranged symmetrically within the field, are the obverse and reverse representations of four additional historic monetary units: a Dirham of Abd al-Rahman struck at Al-Andalus between 755 and 788 AD, an As of the Roman Republic minted between 225 and 217 BC, a Sestertius struck in Rome between 117 and 138 AD, and a Denarius of Louis the Pious minted at Barcelona between 814 and 840 AD, the latter preserved in the Gabinete Numismático del Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. The legend around the periphery reads ESPAÑA 2019 M 300 EURO PLVS VLTRA. |
