A deliberately cheeky parody note produced in Germany, the "300 Euros / Eros" plays on the name of the European common currency in ways that made it briefly attractive to collectors of erotic ephemera and euro-skeptic novelty items alike. Fantasy pieces of this type — technically legal to produce provided they cannot reasonably be mistaken for genuine ECB issues — proliferated across Germany and the Netherlands in the early 2000s as the physical euro entered circulation and public fascination with the new currency ran high.
The "Deutsche Parkbank" issuer name is a pun: Parkbank being German slang for a park bench, the preferred seating of lovers.
