Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as engraved by Dora de Pédery-Hunt, depicting the sovereign wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, a pearl necklace, and earrings. The legend ELIZABETH II is inscribed along the left rim, with D•G•REGINA arcing along the upper right. The date 1991 appears in the lower exergue beneath the bust. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field, characteristic of the Royal Canadian Mint's premium platinum issues.
