The arms are enclosed within an ornate shield with scroll supporters. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE COSTA RICA arcs across the upper field, while the lower legend B.C.C.R.-TRESCIENTOS COLONES-1981 arcs beneath the shield. The fineness inscription LEY 0.925 appears in the exergue below the arms. The coin is struck in proof-like finish with a beaded border. |
