The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of April 1943 — the largest single Jewish armed revolt of the Second World War — became a subject of Polish commemorative coinage decades after the fact, with the state-owned NBP issuing pieces marking the 50th anniversary in 1993. This trial strike in nickel precedes the approved issue and would not have entered circulation regardless; trial strikes of this type were produced for internal approval purposes, with composition and relief evaluated before the die was committed to a precious metal run.
The ParM and Fischer references confirm its documented status rather than being a private or unofficial piece. Nickel trial strikes from NBP's early 1990s commemorative program are genuinely scarce in any condition.
