| Reverse description | The reverse presents a naturalistic scene from the life of the barn swallow (Hirundo rustica) of the family Hirundinidae. A single adult swallow is depicted in three-quarter profile, perched at the rim of a mud nest affixed to a rocky overhang rendered in textured relief across the upper field; nestlings with open beaks are visible within the nest to the left. The composition conveys parental behaviour with fine ornithological detail in the bird's forked tail and wing feathers. The engraver's initial E appears in the lower left field. The bilingual inscription JASKÓŁKI HIRUNDINIDAE is arranged along the lower arc of the coin in two lines of Latin script. |
